GPU tech conference is a part of a global series providing training, insights and access to experts in computing topics, such as VR, AI and deep learning. This 3 day event hosts dozens of talks, workshops, training and networking opportunities for computing professionals. I was hired as a Senior Digital Designer to be integrated into 4 person design in-house team to create the The “My GTC (GPU Tech Conference) App”.
The main UX insights where gathered from the previous years app as it has come usability issues, such as unclear navigation and the lack of customisation for the user.
This new app was split into 4 main function groups – Discover, Explore, Connect and Navigate. Within these sections users could personalise and share their schedules, browse topics, book events, connect with speakers, workshop hosts, and view the floorpan of the event. Using these 4 groups a helped us a clearer user journey and was key to the app success.
Th design team was very fluid and this meant that I worked across a lot of different areas within the apps launch including: creating parts of the new UI brand toolkit, improving the UX map, illustrated floor plans and created other in app artwork, presented ideas to the our third party development team to implement and assisted with online marketing for the app. I also assisted with online marketing and digital advertising.
